Homeopathic first aid travel kit – what is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a natural and effective method of healing. It works by energetically stimulating the body’s natural defence systems to act on whatever is causing the issue.
Homeopathy has been proven effective for over 200 years of practice, since it’s founding philosopher Dr. Samuel Hahnemann developed the first remedies.
It works on a principle of “like cures like”. In other words, if something can harm you, it can also cure you. The remedies are diluted as far as possible to ensure they work gently and in harmony with your body.
This first aid kit contains the following remedies all in 30c potency:
- Arnica – for bruising and trauma
- Calendula – for surface skin wounds
- Ledum – for puncture wounds
- Apis mel – for bites or stings
- Hypericum – for sharp pains.
What if I want to try homeopathy for an ongoing issue?
Homeopathy may help with deep, ongoing issues – physical, mental and/or spiritual.
There are over 2,500 remedies currently in the homeopaths remedy kit, and more are being proven each year.
If you are interested, in using homeopathy for a deeper issue, you will need to have at least one homeopathic consultation and a follow up.

More information of the remedies in your homeopathic first aid travel kit
The information below gives indications on when each of the remedies may be helpful or provide relief in a first aid situation ONLY (they may be indicated for other conditions as well).
In a first aid situation, follow all of the normal practices and consult with your emergency medical professional or GP, if required.
1. Arnica
Arnica Montana is the best known and best selling homeopathic remedy worldwide.
Arnica is used for trauma. Usually given to reduce pain and swelling after injury, especially bruising.
It may also be used in the case of shock from trauma, especially where the victim does not want to be touched.
2. Calendula
Calendula Officinalis is used to treat shallow wounds of the skin.
Examples of injuries would be anything that is open, torn or cut. Any sort of abrasions.
Do not use on deep wounds.
3. Ledum
Ledum Palustre (Ledum.) is the first remedy to think of for puncture wounds.
It is good for any kind of puncture wound (e.g. from a nail, thorn or bite).
Especially indicated when the surrounding area swells, is cold to the touch and may have mottling or a bluish colour.
The victim may desire to be alone.
4. Apis mel
Apis mellifica is indicated when the wound is red and swelling – like a bee sting. It could be used to treat the symptoms of a bee sting, bite or allergic reaction.
Accompanying the redness, there may be feelings of burning, swelling, stinging and prickling.
These physical symptoms may be accompanied by a lack of thirst, clumsiness and/or restlessness.
5. Hypericum
Hypericum is known as the arnica of the nerves.
It is indicated when there is an injured nerve that results in a sharp, shooting pain. The damage may be caused by a blow or other trauma.
Hypericum is often given in conjunction with the other remedies to help deal with the pain.
You can use hypericum anytime there is a shooting pain along the nerves.
Administering the remedy
If you are giving the remedy to another person, it is important not to touch it yourself, as that can reduce the efficacy.
It is best to pour 2-3 pillules into the botte cap and hand to the other person for use.
Storage of your homeopathic first aid travel kit
